Claiming Land
Astroworld uses GriefPrevention (with the AstroGPClaimBlocks add-on) to keep your builds safe. Claim blocks accrue with playtime; vote and store ranks add bonuses.
Making a Claim
- Get a golden shovel.
- Right-click one corner of your build, then right-click the diagonally opposite corner.
- The claim is created if you have enough blocks. Glowstone marks the corners and gold blocks mark the edges.
Trusting Friends
/trust <player>- full build/break access/containertrust <player>- chests & furnaces only/accesstrust <player>- doors, beds, buttons/untrust <player>- revoke access
Removing & Resizing
Use /abandonclaim while standing inside a claim to remove it. To resize, hold a golden shovel and right-click an existing corner, then right-click where you want it to move.
PvP and Claims
Claims protect blocks and containers but not your character. PvP is governed separately - see the PvP Toggle page. Claims do not apply in the dedicated PvP world.
Getting More Claim Blocks
You earn extra blocks over time. Vote and store ranks add bonuses. Run /claimblocks to check your balance, and reach out via Discord or in-game chat if you are stuck.
Common questions about claiming land
How many claim blocks do I start with?
New accounts spawn with a generous starter budget of claim blocks, which is enough to protect a small starter base on day one. The exact starting amount is intentionally tuned to cover a typical 16x16 to 32x32 build without forcing you to grind first.
How do I get more claim blocks?
You earn extra claim blocks every hour you spend online, with vote and store ranks adding a permanent multiplier to that hourly accrual. You can also save up in-game money to top up your claim block budget directly through the GriefPrevention shop.
