Starve
What Starve does
A chance to give your opponent the hunger effect.
It triggers on attack and can be applied to all swords and all axes. The enchant goes up to level 4, and each level changes the numbers rather than the behaviour, so the table below is the whole picture. You may see it written as Famine in older guides; in game it reads Starve.
Effects per level
| Level | Chance | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12% | potion HUNGER:0:80 on the victim |
| 2 | 15% | potion HUNGER:0:120 on the victim |
| 3 | 18% | potion HUNGER:1:80 on the victim |
| 4 | 22% | potion HUNGER:1:120 on the victim |
When it fires
Starve only checks when you land a melee hit on a player. Outside that moment the enchant is inert, so it is worth matching it to how you actually play.

How to Obtain
Common Crate, low-tier pouches, and the vote bonus roll (15% chance per claimed vote).
See the How to Get Enchants page for all enchant sources and the recommended apply workflow.
Applying Enchants
Use /ae in-game to access the enchant menu. Higher-tier books have lower default apply success rates. Pair the book with Magic Dust to increase the success rate, and apply a White Scroll to the target item first to protect it from breaking on a failed apply.
About the Epic Tier
The Epic tier (AE group: UNIQUE) contains 18 enchants in total. For a full breakdown of all tiers, see the Enchant Tiers page.
